Last night, Donald Trump did it again. For ninety minutes, Trump “once again relied on many dubious and false claims that have been repeatedly been debunked.” On nearly every key issue that our next president will face—from ISIS to counterterrorism to health care —Trump blatantly and relentlessly lied. As The New York Times’ David Leonhardt noted, Trump’s performance last night once again showed that he “believes he can fool a lot of the American people a lot of the time. He has decided that lying pays. It’s up to the rest of us to show him otherwise.”
