“Donald Trump just finished a rally in North Carolina, where his party has attempted to suppress the rights of thousands of voters. The Republican Party is proud of their efforts to make it harder to vote in the state: limiting early voting, avoiding the placement of voting sites from college campuses and cancelling the registration of thousands of voters, with an outsize effect on African American voters. These efforts by North Carolina Republicans reflect the racist and un-American tone of Donald Trump’s campaign, and it’s happening in the very place where Americans should be able to freely exercise their rights without intimidation—the voting booth.”
