The Trump campaign is in chaos (again). Earlier this week, Trump appointed widely-loathed Breitbart executive and alt-right poster boy Steve Bannon as his campaign’s CEO. For years, Bannon has peddled anti-semitism and white nationalism—and his promotion has been widely condemned. And just this morning, Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort was forced to resign after a series of devastating stories came out about his relationship with pro-Kremlin politicians in Ukraine. Below is a statement from Correct The Record President Brad Woodhouse on Trump’s terrible week:
“This week proved that Donald Trump is running one of the most self-destructive, dysfunctional presidential campaigns in modern American history. Trump is desperately clinging to a teleprompter to hide the fact that his campaign has aligned itself with sinister forces both here and abroad. With the dismissal of Paul Manafort and the addition of Steve Bannon, the questions only grow about Trump’s ties to both the Kremlin and the white nationalist alt-right. Three teleprompter speeches cannot erase the fact that the Trump train is going completely off the rails.”
