The trouble began this morning, with a new report from Newsweek detailing how the Trump campaign’s affection for Kremlin is frightening long-time U.S. allies.

Just a few hours later, Trump surrogate Rudy Giuliani admitted that he knew about James Comey’s letter to Congress before it went public—raising the specter of possible illegal, politicalized leaks coming out of the FBI. Giuliani has spent the past few hours furiously backtracking.

Just before noon, two of Chris Christie’s former aides were found guilty on all counts in the Bridgegate scandal. Christie is the leader of Trump’s transition effort and responsible for hiring for a potential Trump administration. The bombshell convictions have thrown that position into crisis. Christie has already canceled a visit to New Hampshire tomorrow—and it remains to be seen whether Christie will continue to lead the transition effort.

As the campaign suffers setback after setback, Trump’s rallies have turned even darker. Tonight in Hershey, Pennsylvania, a rally attendee once again harassed reporters—this time yelling “F*** Jorge Ramos!” Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway was even forced to beg supporters to be “nice nice.” And for the second night in a row, Trump suggested that military officers will not follow orders from Hillary Clinton if she’s elected president.
The hateful rallies, the shady senior advisors, the constant scandals and overtures to the Kremlin all point to a campaign that is literally stumbling to the finish line.
