As the United States grieves the loss of 49 people in the country’s largest mass shooting, Donald Trump continued to spread “a string of lies” about the terror attack. In a speech Monday, the presumptive Republican nominee “ratchet
[ed][/ed] up the most dangerous, irresponsible” rhetoric in what he considered a major policy speech. The speech was full of “Trumpisms, not a lot of policy prescriptions,” repeated lies and “dark insinuations” about President Obama having ulterior motives regarding terrorism.
At a time when many in our nation are responding to hate with love, Donald Trump’s response seems to be an attempt “specifically to whip voters into a bigoted frenzy against their fellow American Muslims.” Trump’s speech is nothing more than an “assault” on American values.
