Washington, D.C. — Correct The Record President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement in response to Benghazi Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy’s comment undermining the premise for the Committee’s existence. In an interview on Fox News, Gowdy said regarding the military getting to Benghazi in time to save American lives, “Whether or not they could have gotten there in time, I don’t think there is any issue with respect to that — they couldn’t.”
It is time for this politically-motivated waste of taxpayer dollars of an ‘investigation’ to end. Chairman Gowdy finally gave up one of the primary GOP conspiracy theories and admitted the facts: the military could not have gotten to Benghazi in time to save American lives that tragic night. It is clear beyond the shadow of a doubt that this Committee was truly designed to go after Secretary Clinton and nothing else. It is time for the Benghazi Committee to end this wasteful charade.
