Washington, DC – Today, Correct The Record echoed the editorial board of the Florida Sun-Sentinel—representing one of the state’s largest papers and a previous endorser of Marco Rubio’s Senate bid—in calling on the senator to resign his seat over his rampant absenteeism. CTR has also released a new report, “Where’s Marco?”, which makes the case that the Senate’s most absent member has a long history of dereliction of duty.
“Marco Rubio has never had a job he wasn’t looking to leave as soon as possible,” said Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for Correct The Record. “From the West Miami City Commission all the way to the Senate, he has been bored, unavailable and absent—with one eye always fixed on the next brass ring. Right now, the good people of Florida are footing the bill for his next political joyride, but they shouldn’t have to. If Marco Rubio doesn’t want to do his day job, he should resign immediately.”
