Today in Las Vegas, Donald Trump lied about FBI Director Comey’s unprecedented and irresponsibly vague letter to Congress regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails, lied about Clinton’s plans to improve the Affordable Care Act (no, she doesn’t want to make it “more expensive”) and outrageously and falsely claimed Clinton “shreds the principles on which our nation was founded.”
The most offensive and newsworthy lines of the day came from radio host Wayne Allyn Root and Ret. Gen. Michael Flynn. In a sign of just how dark and extreme the mood has become at Trump rallies, these speakers glorified violence against political opponents and flirted with dictatorship, respectively.
This kind of rhetoric has no place in our democratic process.
