Trump’s debate performance last night wasn’t just shaky, it was duplicitous. Fact checkers from more than a dozen media outlets caught Trump telling lie after lie on subjects as diverse as his support for the war in Iraq to his global warming conspiracy theory to the unconstitutional and ineffective stop-and-frisk program. Trump even lied about his debate performance, telling Fox News this morning that he won CBS News’ post-debate poll. Fact check: CBS didn’t conduct a post-debate poll.
Here’s the truth: Trump showed up unprepared last night and was forced to rely on falsehoods, lies and completely debunked claims to get through his 90 minutes onstage.
