Washington, D.C.–This morning, Correct The Record Communications Director Elizabeth Shappell released the following statement on Rudy Giuliani’s comments on NBC’s Meet the Press that Donald Trump’s vile 2005 comments “don’t reflect who he is today”:
Trump crony Rudy Giuliani is on TV peddling the utter fiction that Donald Trump’s vile 2005 comments don’t ‘reflect who he is today.’ Let’s be clear: Giuliani is lying to the American people and shamelessly defending the last gasp of the ‘good ol’ boys’ club. Donald Trump is a misogynistic bully who bragged about objectifying women—and it’s who he will be today, tomorrow and forever. He has a decades-long record of de-humanizing, bullying and harassing women and treating them as objects that he can grope, insult and demean. In this campaign alone, he has mocked Carly Fiorina’s physical appearance, called Hillary Clinton ‘disgusting’ for going to the bathroom and insulted Megyn Kelly for merely asking him about his misogynistic rhetoric. There is no new Donald Trump.
