Donald Trump would do serious harm to our economy. But don’t take our word for it. Since launching his presidential campaign, Trump has laid out a series of disastrous (and sometimes bizarre) economic proposals that would devastate our economy. He’s threatened to default on the national debt and launch a disastrous trade war with China. The self-described “king of debt” has complained that “wages [are] too high” in this country and called for an end to the federal minimum wage. In 2006 he even said “he sort of hope[d]” the housing market would crash “because then people like me would go in and buy.” It’s no wonder that Moody’s found yesterday that a Trump presidency would destroy 3.4 million jobs and leave our economy “isolated and diminished.”
