Washington, DC – In the lead-up to Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin’s appearances before the Benghazi Committee, Kevin McCarthy and Richard Hanna—two House Republicans—have both confirmed that the Committee’s investigation is nothing more than a political farce designed to hurt Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
“It’s tragic but unsurprising that Jim Jordan has used his power to peddle in partisan smear campaigns and conspiracy theories—hiding facts and using partisan tactics to politicize the tragedy in Benghazi, as well as Planned Parenthood, Obamacare and a host of other issues,” said Daniel Wessel of Correct The Record.
“The Benghazi Committee Republicans’ abuse of power and misuse of taxpayer funds run deep. With so much at stake in 2016, the American people deserve better than partisan hackery with no basis in the facts.”
