Washington, DC – In advance of Thursday’s Republican debate, Correct The Record is mailing to key reporters across the country and promoting across social media platforms a poster that amplifies an argument which we’ve proved in memos and products for months: the Republican candidates for President are indistinguishable from each other when it comes to their positions on the issues that matter the most to Americans.
“In this primary contest, these Republicans are carbon copies of one another,” said Brad Woodhouse, president of Correct The Record. “When you strip away the atmospherics – the bellicose bellyaching of Donald Trump, the extreme views of Ted Cruz or the low energy of Jeb Bush – when you get past the personalities – the Republicans running for President are all the same. They share the same policies and they are all anti-immigrant, anti-women’s health, anti-Muslim, anti-voting rights, anti-science, anti-LGBT rights and the list goes on.
“This notion that they are all the same doesn’t end with the candidates for President – we will make the same case up and down the ballot, from GOP candidates for dog catcher all the way up to the US Senate. They won’t be able to Etch-A-Sketch their way out of the extreme and out-of-date positions their race for the Republican nomination has revealed – we won’t let them.”
