CTR URGES GOWDY TO WITHDRAW FROM LATEST FUNDRAISER FOR MEMBER ON BENGHAZI COMMITTEE
Washington, DC – Tomorrow, Trey Gowdy will appear at an Illinois fundraiser for Peter Roskam, member of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, where Gowdy will once again use his position as Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi to fundraise for Republicans.
“Canceling his Rubio fundraiser is not enough – we urge Trey Gowdy to withdraw from fundraising for his colleague on the Benghazi Committee Peter Roskam and from all fundraisers where he abuses his position on the Benghazi Committee by using it to benefit Republicans financially,” said Adrienne Watson of Correct The Record. “Gowdy’s partisan exploitation of the deaths of four Americans is inexplicable and entirely at odds with his claim he would not fundraise off this tragedy. Gowdy should apologize and cancel these fundraisers or cancel investigation-turned-campaign against Hillary Clinton.”
