Washington, DC – Correct The Record President Brad Woodhouse released the following statement in response to tonight’s Republican primary results.
“The decline of Donald Trump’s electoral fortunes has been greatly exaggerated,” said Woodhouse. “The media and the GOP establishment breathlessly and desperately spent the last several days predicting the same Trump implosion they’ve predicted all along – only to be wrong again. Try as they might to deny it, a man who wants to ban all Muslims, who calls immigrants rapists and murderers, who makes fun of the disabled and who wouldn’t know the Nuclear Triad from the square root of the hypotenuse is marching unstoppably towards the Republican nomination for President.
“That someone like Trump could become the Republican nominee for President is a direct consequence of the party’s vitriolic, knee-jerk and fact and evidence free, over-the-top opposition to and demeaning of President Obama and anyone who has ideas different than theirs. The Republican Party and the hatemongers it has encouraged gave rise to Trump. Now they have him. Congrats, or something.
