Washington, DC – Correct The Record released the following statement on the Benghazi Committee’s Republican members’ continued use of their positions of power to advance an overtly partisan agenda:
“No one should be surprised that Republicans on the Benghazi Committee abuse their positions of power to peddle conspiracy theories and advance an extreme right-wing agenda. It’s a cheap strategy that costs the taxpayers millions—yet, that strategy has driven the Committee’s attacks against Hillary Clinton for 17 months now,” said Brad Woodhouse, President of Correct The Record.
“Each of the Republican members on the Benghazi Committee should be ashamed of themselves—politicizing the tragedy in Benghazi and lobbing baseless attacks against Planned Parenthood and Obamacare, along with several other issues. The American people entrust elected officials with positions of power, expecting them to use that power to advance the public good, not hide facts and engage in partisan exploits.”
