Tonight, we were reminded that the Republican candidates for President are most comfortable using wrong, dangerous rhetoric when it comes to foreign policy. Last week, Ted Cruz called on police to ‘patrol’ Muslim neighborhoods here in the United States and Donald Trump agreed, adding to his past call to ban Muslims from entering our country.
The xenophobic rhetoric from the Republican presidential candidates in the face of truly serious times demonstrates they are not prepared to address the complex threats and problems our country faces. Even more, their outlandish proposals actually create a clear and present danger for our country, elevating global threats.
But there was a reprieve in the absurd GOP foreign policy plans last week when Hillary Clinton made it clear she is the only candidate with the experience and steady hands to lead our country and keep Americans safe, chiding the Republicans’ responses to terror, saying “loose cannons tend to misfire.”
