“I use that term initially when I was running in the Republican primaries and I was the first to use it. Then all of a sudden it became a hot term. Everybody was using the word, ‘rigged, rigged.’”

The first known use of the word “rig” as a verb that means “to manipulate or control usually by deceptive or dishonest means” dates back to 1851, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Trump claimed to have invented the idea that people should report terrorists to authorities

“They have to report. And I’ve been saying it for two weeks, big league, and now all of a sudden people are saying report, they’re saying report.”

In 2002, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority “saw a need for a security-awareness campaign to encourage customers to report suspicious activity or unattended packages.” “If you see something, say something” debuted in New York City in 2003. The slogan was licensed for use by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for a national campaign that launched in 2010.

Trump claimed that he himself had made immigration an issue of great national importance

“If I didn’t run you wouldn’t even be asking the question on immigration because it was a question that nobody was even thinking about. Nobody was even thinking about.”

The first use of the word immigrate dates back to 1623, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Trump claimed to be the first person in fifty years to question the GOP nomination process

“For 40 or 50 years, however long this has been going on with this crazy delegate system, nobody has ever complained. Nobody has ever talked about it. You know, I’ve always heard delegate, delegate.”

During the 2012 Republican primary, critics of the process included Chris Christie and former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels.

Trump claimed to be the only person that said invading Iraq would destabilize the Middle East

“I was the one who predicted it. And I was the one that said it, nobody else said it.”

Donald Trump did not oppose invading Iraq. In addition, George W. Bush advisor Brent Scowcroft wrote in the Wall Street Journal in August 2002: “the results could well destabilize Arab regimes in the region, ironically facilitating one of Saddam’s strategic objectives. At a minimum, it would stifle any cooperation on terrorism, and could even swell the ranks of the terrorists.” Arab leaders also warned the invasion could destabilize the region.

Trump claimed to be the first person to discuss building a border wall

“Nobody ever said — did you hear anybody say they’re going to build a wall other than Trump?”

The U.S. began constructing a wall between itself and Mexico during World War I.

Trump claimed to be the only person who advocated attacking ISIS-controlled oil

“Remember, I was the one who said attack the oil (ISIS source of wealth) a long time ago. Everyone scoffed, now they’re attacking the oil.”

The US has been conducting airstrikes against ISIS’s oil infrastructure since August of 2014.

Trump claimed to be the first person to say we didn’t need another Bush in the White House

“But I said it.  I was the one that said it first, and I mean it.  The last thing we need is another Bush.”

In 2013, Barbara Bush, matriarch of the Bush family, said, “There are other people out there that are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes,” in reference to a possible Jeb Bush presidential run.

Trump claimed to have been the first person to advocate for a “safe zone” in Syria

“… I believe in protecting people. But you build a safe zone. I was the first one to say it. Build a big, fat beautiful safe zone some place in Syria where you can have it right? And you build it and you put it — but you get the Gulf states.”

In 2012, Sen. John McCain and five like-minded lawmakers unveiled a resolution on Syria that calls for establishing safe zones inside Syria for civilians.

Trump claimed that he was the only person to supply chairs at events

“See we supply chairs. How many people do that? Nobody else supplies chairs. Only Trump. Only Trump.”
