Rep. Michael McCaul today claimed that due to President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s leadership, the world respects us less than they did eight years ago. The numbers still a starkly different story. While Hillary was at the State Department, America’s standing with the world dramatically improved.
THE LIE:
MCCAUL: President Reagan once asked if you are better off than you were four years ago? Tonight, let me ask you this question. Are you safer than you were eight years ago?
CROWD: No!
MCCAUL No. Is our military stronger?
CROWD: No.
MCCAUL Is America still respected?
CROWD: No.
THE TRUTH: When Sec. Clinton left office, the world viewed the United States more favorably than it did before she took office. A Pew Research poll measuring favorable opinions of the United States found that the international community’s opinions of the United States were higher when Sec. Clinton left office than it was before she took office
